Filed two EAD renewals to TSC: one on 07/06/08, another on 07/14/08.
Both included only the documents required by the filing instruction, nothing besides.
The first one was accepted, ND 8 Jul, the second returned with a request for a copy of I-485.
Added and re-sent again- no receipt yet.

Do you have an idea how much lobbying $ got involved on this without much success so far ? I am surprised that you are even raising this question. Why Americans should want more foreigners to compete with them when the real wages have declined ? That would defy logic.

"Members please pledge the amount. Do NOT pay right now. Since these funds are to be directed towards reimbursing the administrative costs of the core team , we are not going to be adding it to the IV funds. We are working on a strategy to get this amount across to the IV core team members. We will instruct you on how to make the payment, once we formulate a strategy"
As for the target amount, i think the least minimum would be the $64K , which Aman spent already. Soon we will get a collective amount of what has been spent by all the core IV team members and then set the final target amount. What do you think ?

GC comes with a 'sleeve' to keep the card safely. The pouch in the sleeve have special silver lining to prevent 'de-magnetisation' over the period. Please, take due care as its not easy to get replacement.

(disclaimer: Like everyone else here, I am very dissapointed. Hence the negative mood)
I am wondering how we ended up here. We have been doing this campaign for so long, we have now hired a lobbying firm, and we've met, called, emailed and faxed so many senators etc. How come this bill completely ignored, and in fact in some senses, hurt us?
I have seen posts about lawmakers being stupid, out-of-touch etc but I think these posts are mostly facetious. I feel troubled by the fact that in spite of numerous efforts the lawmakers decided to ignore us - and if this was India I would have attributed this to the fact that in us they don't (yet) have a vote bank.
Please take this post in a positive way and as a stimulus for some soul searching - why did we end up in this situation?

I am afraid that you might be right on this. Having said that it appears that there isn’t lot of resistance for our provisions in the senate. In fact, we have been able to get our provisions through the senate few times already but we have never been able to get anything out of the house. We tried twice and it always failed in the house.
So why don’t we try to persuade house to come up with our provisions and that shouldn’t (I hope) have any problem in the senate. If history is any guide, senate has always been helpful to us. Any comment on who in the house might be willing to help us in lame-duck session.
If the Democrats :cool: win, we will be screwed because the illegals will get all the visas.
If the Republicans :cool: :eek: win, we will also be screwed because nobody will get visas.

After having been following most of the EB3 related threads looks like EB3 folks are on their own. I feel sorry for EB3 folks even though I'm under EB2. But I get upset when some of the EB2 folks don't even know the reason why they started getting green cards recently all of a sudden ( b'coz of roll over). They don't educate themselves and talk as if they deserve the green cards. If was a collective effort from IV and fellow immigrants that pressurised USCIS to follow the rules and reduce the backlogs.
